El Salvador President Nayyib Bukele presented a new digital bitcoin wallet to fellow citizens

El Salvador announced the launch of an official cryptocurrency wallet that will support Bitcoin (BTC) and other cryptocurrencies. This was reported on June 24 by local media.

Crypto wallet with thirty dollars each

Recall that in June this small state of Central America was at the center of increased attention of the world community after the Congress of El Salvador adopted bitcoin as legal tender and was the first in the world to legalize cryptocurrency.

The new wallet was named “Chivo”, and it should become the basis for the use of cryptocurrency in the daily life of citizens.

President Nayyib Bukele, who spearheaded recent cryptocurrency innovations at the legislative level, said during a press conference that every user who downloads a new application will receive $30 worth of bitcoins from the government.

In his speech, he also noted the benefits of using Bitcoin. In particular, the President mentioned the possibility of making quick money transfers at any time of the day without the participation of intermediaries.

The app will be available on Android and iOS platforms. Also, the new wallet will be compatible with other cryptocurrency wallets. Its launch will take place later this year as new bitcoin legislation goes into effect on September 7th.
